Hanwha Vision, a South Korean provider of optical and video surveillance solutions, has secured a significant contract in the U.S. public infrastructure sector, marking a major step in its North American expansion. The company will supply an advanced integrated security system for one of Nashville, Tennessee’s largest civic venues.

The company’s U.S. subsidiary recently signed a deal to equip the Music City Center — a city-owned convention complex — with a next-generation surveillance network that includes more than 700 Hanwha Vision cameras.

The project’s first phase has been completed, and the venue plans to gradually replace its older cameras with Hanwha’s latest models. The goal is to establish a modernized, long-term security framework for the facility.

Hanwha Vision’s system uses 360-degree multi-view cameras and AI-powered video analytics to provide real-time object tracking, loitering and perimeter intrusion detection, and crowd density monitoring. Covering more than 1,600 distinct viewing angles across the building’s interior and exterior, the upgrade significantly boosts both coverage and investigative speed.

The new system also strengthens cooperation with the Nashville Police Department. Thanks to its open data architecture, Hanwha’s technology enables law enforcement to access live video feeds and receive instant situation reports (SITREPs) during incidents — a change local officials say will improve community safety and rapid response.

Owned and operated by the City of Nashville, the Music City Center is a 2.1 million-square-foot convention facility that hosts major events year-round and serves as a cornerstone of the city’s economy and tourism industry.

Previously, the venue relied on outdated equipment with low video quality and a closed system that couldn’t integrate with other platforms, making real-time coordination difficult. The city opted for a full system overhaul and selected Hanwha Vision as its supplier.

Industry analysts see the contract as strong evidence of Hanwha Vision’s competitiveness in the U.S. public-sector security market. As more large facilities shift from closed systems to open, integrated platforms, Hanwha’s work in Nashville could position it for additional high-profile projects nationwide.

Eric Bluang, technology director at the Music City Center, said the improvements have been transformative: “Now, if a child was somewhere 10 minutes ago, we can find them within minutes — something that used to take hours. The improvement in video quality has been a game-changer, and we can now cover every corner of the facility, inside and out, in full 360 degrees.”
