Paris Baguette has signed a lease to open a store in GSQ, a mixed-use development in Goodyear, Arizona, as it accelerates efforts to reach 400 locations in North America by year-end.
The move underscores the company’s strategy to secure high-traffic, community-centered sites and position itself as a lifestyle brand embedded in everyday consumer routines, rather than simply expanding its footprint.
According to RED Development, the developer of the project, the GSQ complex spans about 4.46 million square feet and combines retail, dining and civic infrastructure, including a city hall and library. Paris Baguette is preparing to open the location later this year.
Goodyear, part of the Phoenix metropolitan area, has emerged as a fast-growing region driven by population inflows. The company aims to use the site to broaden its reach among mainstream U.S. consumers in a high-growth suburban market.
The Arizona deal follows a recent agreement to open a location at Philadelphia International Airport, a major East Coast gateway. That store, also slated to open this year, is expected to mark a milestone as the company surpasses 300 locations in North America.
“Paris Baguette is a tenant that can extend customer dwell time and enhance the value of the development,” said Mike Ebert, a partner at RED Development.
The chain has been expanding rapidly in North America, supported by a broad product lineup and a café-style format that differentiates it from traditional U.S. bakeries. It was ranked No. 1 in the bakery café category in the “Franchise 500” list published by Entrepreneur.
Paris Baguette plans to open about 150 additional stores in North America this year. Longer term, the company aims to build a network of 1,000 locations in the region by 2030, focusing on strategically selected sites to strengthen its market position.
