BTS is set to make a special appearance at the 2026 American Music Awards on May 25 local time, according to entertainment industry reports released May 20, extending the South Korean group’s longstanding presence at one of the United States’ major music award shows.

The ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

The group has also received multiple nominations this year, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male K-Pop Artist, and Song of the Summer for its track “Swim.”

The American Music Awards has held particular significance for BTS and its global fanbase, known as ARMY.

In 2017, BTS made its first U.S. television performance at the awards with “DNA,” marking the first time a Korean group performed on the show since its inception in 1974.

Since then, BTS has become one of the most decorated acts in the show’s history, winning 11 American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year in 2021 and Favorite K-Pop Artist in 2022.

This year’s ceremony will also feature performances from artists including KATSEYE, Billy Idol, and Riley
