A Michelin-starred chef in South Korea has drawn attention after sharing a surprise encounter with members of global pop phenomenon BTS, offering fans a rare glimpse of the group in a relaxed, offstage setting.
Hudukjuk, a prominent figure in South Korea’s Chinese cuisine scene, posted a group photo on social media showing himself alongside BTS members V, Jin, Jungkook and RM. The image, shared on Feb. 3 (local time), was accompanied by a brief caption expressing admiration for the artists, underscoring his personal fandom.
The photo shows the chef standing among the four musicians in a warmly lit indoor space, dressed in a white chef’s jacket and giving a thumbs-up. The BTS members respond with thumbs-up and peace signs, projecting an easygoing and friendly atmosphere.
Each member displayed a distinct personal style. V appeared in a dark, casual outfit topped with a cap, while Jin wore a black jacket and offered a soft smile. Jungkook opted for a hoodie, emphasizing a youthful look, and RM stood out in a leather jacket, projecting a composed and understated presence. Despite their differing styles, the group appeared naturally cohesive.
The post quickly drew enthusiastic reactions from fans, many commenting on the unlikely pairing and celebrating the chef as a “successful fan,” while others likened the moment to an impromptu photoshoot rather than a casual meal.
Hudukjuk is widely regarded as a leading figure in Chinese cuisine in South Korea. He currently oversees Hobin, a Michelin Guide one-star Chinese restaurant located inside the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel. He is also a recipient of the Michelin Guide Mentor Chef Award and is known for an unconventional career path that saw him rise to a senior corporate position based solely on his culinary expertise.
BTS, one of the most commercially successful music acts in the world, is preparing for a full-group comeback scheduled for March, further amplifying interest in any public appearance by its members.
