LG Electronics participated for the first time in the North Carolina Energy Conference, targeting the growing demand for energy-efficient HVAC solutions in North America amid a surge in AI infrastructure investment by big tech firms.

According to the NC Clean Energy Technology Center at North Carolina State University, LG Electronics took part as a silver sponsor at the annual conference held on April 29-30 at the university’s McKimmon Center. The company set up its own booth to display a range of high-efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products.

The North Carolina Energy Conference is a key event that brings together stakeholders from government, academia, and the energy industry to share insights on energy technology, policy, and business opportunities. North Carolina Governor Josh Stein was among the attendees at this year’s gathering.

This marks LG’s first appearance at the event as the company continues to strengthen its B2B business in North America, with HVAC technology as a strategic pillar. LG aims to raise brand awareness and expand its presence in the North American HVAC market.

LG has steadily built a comprehensive local infrastructure in North America to support everything from product development and manufacturing to maintenance services. In 2020, it established the LG North America Air Solutions R&D Lab in Alpharetta, Georgia. In 2022, it launched a Mexican subsidiary of Hi-M Solutek, a service affiliate specializing in HVAC system maintenance. Last year, LG added the Alaska Heat Pump Lab and began manufacturing HVAC products for the North American market at its factory in Huntsville, Alabama.

This localized approach is earning recognition. In 2023, LG ranked No. 1 in the HVAC category of the Green Builder Media’s 2024 Sustainable Brand Index, a respected benchmark in North America’s green building industry. Earlier this year, the company also won an Innovation Award at AHR EXPO 2025, the region’s largest HVAC exhibition, for its residential cold-climate heat pump.
