Byun Yo-han, a South Korean actor best known for the critically acclaimed television series Misaeng and the historical films Hansan: Rising Dragon and The Book of Fish, and Tiffany Young, a singer and actress who rose to global fame as a member of the K-pop group Girls’ Generation, have confirmed they are in a serious relationship with marriage in mind.
The couple made the announcement on December 13 through handwritten letters posted separately on Instagram, opting to address fans directly rather than issuing statements through their agencies.
Both said no specific wedding plans or timeline have been decided. Byun, 39, wrote that he is continuing a relationship with someone he hopes to marry, adding that he wanted fans to hear the news from him first.
He described the relationship as one that has helped him grow personally and approach his work with greater maturity.
Tiffany Young, 36, shared a similar message, saying she is in a sincere relationship with the intention of marriage.
She described Byun as someone who provides emotional stability and helps her view the world with a more positive outlook, adding that she would inform fans directly if any major decisions are made.
Byun gained nationwide recognition in South Korea through Misaeng, a workplace drama widely regarded as one of the most influential Korean television series of the 2010s.
He later solidified his reputation with leading roles in historical films, including Hansan: Rising Dragon, a box-office hit centered on a famous naval battle, and The Book of Fish, which received critical praise for its literary and historical depth.
His television work also includes Six Flying Dragons, Mr. Sunshine, and the Disney+ original series Uncle Samsik. Tiffany debuted in 2007 with Girls’ Generation, one of the most successful and internationally recognized K-pop groups, known for hits such as Into the New World, Gee, and Genie.
She later pursued a solo music career, performed in musical theater, and expanded into acting, with recent roles in the hit drama Reborn Rich and Uncle Samsik.
The two are believed to have formed a connection while working together on Uncle Samsik, a Disney+ series released last year, where they appeared together in prominent roles.
