
The unique competition series K-Popped, which brings together international pop stars and K-Pop idols, is showing early signs of global success.
According to streaming ranking site FlixPatrol, K-Popped, which premiered on Apple TV+ on July 29, reached 4th place on the global popularity chart as of August 31. In South Korea, the show topped the charts, while it claimed the 2nd spot in East Asian countries familiar with K-Pop, including Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, and Mongolia. It also ranked 5th in the United States and appeared in the top 10 in 99 countries, including the United Kingdom, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia.
The show also dominated Apple TV+’s content section on the Korean streaming platform TVING, quickly taking the number-one spot for real-time popular content after its release.
Lionel Richie, co-creator of the show and a legendary American singer-songwriter, expressed his surprise on social media, writing, “K-Popped is number one in Korea? Incredible!”
K-Popped features a lineup of global pop stars such as Megan Thee Stallion, Spice Girls, Taylor Dayne, TLC, Kesha, and Kylie Minogue, alongside K-Pop acts including Billlie, ITZY, STAYC, and ATEEZ. The program brings these artists together for collaborative performances and head-to-head competition.
Billboard praised the show, stating that K-Popped “brings world-class stars together to showcase authentic, awe-inspiring musical chemistry,” highlighting its appeal to audiences around the world.
