Paris Baguette Tightens Focus on North American Expansion with CDO Appointment

South Korean bakery chain Paris Baguette is accelerating its expansion in North America by appointing a new Chief Development Officer (CDO). The personnel change is seen as a strategic move to realize the company’s vision of opening 1,000 stores in North America by 2030.

On May 28 (local time), Paris Baguette’s U.S. subsidiary announced the promotion of Nick Scaccio, former Chief Operating Officer (COO), to the role of Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Scaccio was tapped for the role in recognition of his strategic thinking and operational expertise in franchise business development. Darren Tipton, CEO of Paris Baguette America, commented, “Nick understands that sustainable growth requires a strong commitment to strategic planning and core values. He is the right leader to drive Paris Baguette’s growth.”

Scaccio emphasized the importance of maintaining brand integrity during rapid expansion. “It’s not just about increasing the number of franchises,” he said. “We must ensure that each store fully reflects the brand’s unique quality and community-centered values.”

His appointment comes amid unprecedented growth in the region. In the first quarter alone, Paris Baguette signed 76 new franchise agreements, secured 20 lease contracts, and opened 15 new locations.

The company is intensifying efforts to achieve its “1,000 North American stores by 2030” goal. Part of this includes investing in a new bakery plant in Texas. With an investment of $160 million, the facility is scheduled to break ground in Q3 this year and be completed in the second half of 2027. The plant will serve as a key production hub for Paris Baguette’s expanding footprint in the U.S. and Canada, as well as future markets in Latin America.

CDO Scaccio stated, “We will continue opening stores that serve as vital parts of local communities and focus our full capabilities on reaching 1,000 stores in North America by 2030.”
